Construction of Line A

Transport and Infrastructure
The project for Clermont-Ferrand's first tram line marked a major milestone in the modernization of the metropolitan area's transport system. Commissioned in 2006 after several years of preparation, it quickly became the backbone of the urban transport network.
From the very start of the project, the SMTC chose the Mezzoteam platform to structure document exchanges between all stakeholders. With its 14 km of track, 31 stations, and a €290 million investment, this operation required reliable, centralized, and tightly controlled document management throughout the design and construction phases.
The platform helped simplify the processes for exchanging, verifying, and validating documents, while ensuring information traceability and seamless collaboration between the various parties involved. This organization helped secure the management of a complex project right up to its commissioning.
As Régis Savarit, Tramway Project Manager at the SMTC, noted during the platform's deployment:
"The benefit of implementing an electronic data management system for the tramway project lies primarily in simplifying the procedures for exchanging, verifying, and validating the required documentation. We chose this solution in particular because its architecture was perfectly aligned with our stated needs."
