Offshore urban development

Building
Delivered in 2025, Mareterra is one of the most ambitious development projects ever undertaken in the Principality of Monaco. Led by S.A.M. L’Anse du Portier, this new 6-hectare eco-district, reclaimed from the Mediterranean Sea, addresses the challenges of territorial development while setting new standards for sustainable construction and the preservation of the marine environment.
From the earliest stages of the project, the Mezzoteam platform was deployed to support all stakeholders with document management, team coordination and information sharing throughout the project lifecycle.
This exceptional project, which represents Monaco’s seventh extension into the sea since 1907, stands out for its particularly stringent environmental approach. Designed as a genuine eco-district, Mareterra incorporates nearly 40% landscaped green spaces and has been subject to numerous measures to protect marine biodiversity, including the transplantation of Posidonia seagrass meadows and the rigorous monitoring of environmental experts’ recommendations throughout the construction works.
In a context involving numerous stakeholders, stringent regulatory requirements and a high level of technical complexity, Mezzoteam enabled project documents to be centralised, communications to be secured and information to be fully traceable between all stakeholders. The platform thus helped streamline collaboration throughout the delivery of this landmark project.
Now completed, Mareterra demonstrates how a large-scale marine urban development project can combine innovation, technical excellence and environmental ambitions. This achievement is now an international benchmark for sustainable coastal development and highlights the importance of a robust project management platform for overseeing highly complex projects.
